Australia has become a land of digital natives. According to a Nielsen Australian Online Consumer Report, Australians spent nearly 22 hours a week browsing the internet in 2010. Interestingly, this figure rose from just 17.5 hours, the year before, in 2009.

More people (77 percent,) are now using two different forms of media simultaneously. Most commonly, we use our laptops while watching the TV. This  explains the increase in time spent online, without seeing a decrease in the time we spend using traditional media. The role the internet plays in our life is ever-increasing.
